Boca Raton housing, from high-rise condos to large estates
Boca Raton has a notably wide range of homes. Along the Intracoastal and near the beach there are high-rise and mid-rise condominiums. Around Mizner Park and the central part of the city you will find a mix of older single-family homes and newer infill. In west Boca, many people live in large planned communities with gated entrances and association rules, often with sizeable kitchens and walk-in closets.
That mix changes how cabinetry is planned. In a high-rise, the project often comes down to logistics. In a larger west Boca home, the challenge is scale, such as a long wall of cabinets, a pantry, or a kitchen island that has to line up with the rest of the room.
High-rise and association projects
Condo buildings in Boca Raton frequently have detailed renovation rules. Typical requirements include a signed alteration request, proof of insurance from the contractor, a deposit held by the building, and limits on noisy work to certain hours on weekdays. Some buildings require freight elevator reservations and floor protection.
Cabinets are large and heavy, so delivery planning matters. We will ask about your building’s loading dock, elevator size and any rules for moving materials, and then plan the sequence around them. Your association has the final word on what is required, so ask for its renovation packet before scheduling.
- Measure the elevator door and cab if you live in a high-rise
- Ask whether the building requires a certificate of insurance
- Confirm allowed work hours, including Saturdays if you need them
Closets, wall units and the rest of the house
Larger Boca Raton homes often have space that deserves proper cabinetry. Primary suites can use custom closets designed around how you actually dress. Living rooms and family rooms are a natural place for wall units and entertainment centers, and a spare room can become a polished home office with built-in storage.
Of course, kitchens and bathrooms are still the most common starting points. See our kitchen cabinet page for how we approach layout and materials.
Estimates and permits in Boca Raton
At your free estimate, we will ask about your space, your style, what you want to keep and what must change. Photos, rough dimensions and any inspiration images help us get started. We then measure, design and give you a written estimate.
Permit requirements are set by the City of Boca Raton building department, and a cabinet swap alone often does not need one, while plumbing, electrical or structural changes typically do.
